[ "C'mon Kae, there's a ton of crystal flies out right now, let's go catch some!" diluc has been trying to convince kaeya for hours to go outside, but he keeps complaining about the weather and how it's making him sleepy. valid, but diluc pouts anyways, he knows that's not what this is about. he takes kaeya's hand, gets real close and bumps their foreheads together "You don't have to tell me the real reason, at least not right now, but when you are ready to I will be here to listen." he smiles, soft and warm, squeezing kaeya's hand. "Let's build a fort in my room and tell stories by candlelight! And we can even sleep there tonight, too. hehe." kaeya squeezes his hand back. "Okay, 'Luc." the smile doesn't reach his eye. ]

[ watching your best friend, brother in arms, ~~love of your life~~ fulfill every dream he has is both exciting and also bitter tasting. to have the choice of how to live, what to do, and how to do it...he wishes he had such things. all there is to do is smile, congratulate and wish him luck. "Captain Diluc Ragnvindr. Heh, has a nice ring to it." that earns him a punch to the arm, diluc rolling his eyes as they sit a table in Angel's Share. "It could have been Captain Kaeya Ablerich, but someone had to go and get cold feet." he nudges kaeya's foot and then smiles. "You're just as capable as I am, for the title of Cavalry Captain, maybe even more so." there's a small chuckle from kaeya as he raises his glass in a toast to diluc, attempting to get the attention off of himself. "To our Cavalry Captain, may he always shine bright and bring with him the dawn of a new Mondstadt." diluc blinks, taken aback by the sudden statement, but still manages to clink their glasses together, while shaking his head. let his light never dim... ]
